If you could give a gift to the world this Christmas what would it be?

That was the question posed in a Christmas competition organised by Barnet FC's Football in the Community ahead of the Boxing Day home game against Aldershot Town.

The overall winner was Alice Murphy,from Underhill Junior School, with this poem; -

If I could give a gift,
I would give a home,
To someone who needs shelter,
And someone who's alone.

If I could give a gift,
I would give happiness,
To someone who needs love,
And someone who's in distress.

If I could give a gift,
Of no more hunger,
To someone who is starving,
So they can live much longer.

If I could give the gift of peace,
To countries at war,
The world would be a better place,
And everyone would care.
