BARNET IN THE COMMUNITY

Posted on: Tue 27 Jan 2009
Barnet FC have been awarded Bronze status by the Football League for their work in the community.

Greg Baker, the Football League Trust regional manager, will present the award to Football in the Community manager Janet Matthewson and development officer Hayley James at half time in tomorrow's match at Underhill against Shrewsbury Town.

The club will receive £24K, which will be invested into community activities.

The FIC team were recently assessed by the Trust regional management team, who found that the Barnet FC work in the community met the required standards for a Bronze award.

Bronze awards have been made to 20 Championship clubs, 19 in League 1 and 17 in League 2.

I am pleased to record that Barnet's community record is already being noted around the borough beyond just footballing circles.
