Young people from the Barnet Kickz project played a thrilling friendly against youngsters from Brentford FC's Kickz. The friendly took place on the hallowed turf of Underhill -- it gave the young people the chance to follow in the footsteps of the local heroes of Barnet FC, such as the watching Danny Hart, who went to Underhill School, and the Community coaches.
Unfortunately Brentford were unable to bring an U14s team with them so the young people had an in-house 6 - a - side friendly on the pitch. This gave the younger members of Kickz the opportunity to experience match day traditions of the team talk in the changing rooms and entering Underhill through the players' tunnel.
Following the Under 14s was the battle of the Bees. The match was closely contested throughout and. Brentford took a very early lead whilst shooting downhill. Barnet hit back with a calmly slotted penalty from Mauro Vilhete in the second half, only for Brentford to seal a victory late on.
A momentous occasion for both teams.
Football in the Community thank Barnet FC for allowing them to host this event.
