Three North Herts bands will be playing some of their original material as an added feature this year at the Barnet FC Community Open Day.

The groups are Hammersalt, Tasha Fights Tigers and Betaboy. The open day on Sunday, July 12, will start at mid-day and continue until 5 p.m and the first band should be on stage between 1.30 - 2 p.m.

For those who like something a little more sedate - or weird and wonderful in watching Frenchman Kenny Gillet trying to understand the intricacies of cricket - there will be the annual 20/20 match between Barnet Cricket Club first team and Ian Hendon's League 2 squad.

A bronzed Ian Hendon is preaching that it's back to work with a vengeance for the footballers -- but he is as keyed up to victory in the 20/20 game as he is to beating old pal Andy Hessenthaler at Dover Athletic the previous day.

There are 10,000 leaflets advertising this Football in the Community event with organiser Janet Matthewson insisting:"It's fun for all the family".

Chairman Tony Kleanthous insists that he has been over-ruled on the new kit for the Bees this season ... supporters can view and purchase whoever's choice it is at the open day.

What else do the leaflets reveal.New signings? They will be there on July 12. So will Punch and Judy, the behind-the-scenes stadium tours, beat the goalkeeper and batsman competitions, traditional and Indian BBQ's, inflatable games etc., etc.etc.

It's a gathering of the black and amber clan. Or is that black and orange? Or black and old gold?

Don't bother to speculate. It's the new kit. Come along and have a look.
