Barnet Community Trust has hosted the North London Kickz Cup at the Hive,in association with the campaign, Why Let Drink Decide.
Kickz projects from Chelsea, Leyton Orient, Southend and Barnet made their way to the Hive. Each Kickz project had under 14's, under 16's and under 18's teams. Barnet put together one under 14's team, two under 16's teams and two under 18's team.
The Barnet FC Community Trust staff teamed up with Ewings event Organisation, on a lovely day, and delivered an impressive tournament. Janet Matthewson and her Barnet FC Community staff organised the day and everyone involved were very impressed with the quality of the organisation.
Barnet FC Community Trust assigned all their staff to the tournament and had twenty Stanmore College sports volunteers helped out. They were assigned jobs such as refereeing and greeting special guests.
There were workshops, food and many fun activities going on at the same time as the tournament. Rolling base came along with their Vans that have rowing machines, sports TV and a DJ turntable. The Barnet FC Community Trust brought along their blow up goal and gave a prize out for the highest scorer. In all; the day was fun and well organised for all people involved. Simon Causer, the Chief Inspector, came along and was very impressed on the professionalism of the day. Councillor Kate and Brian Salinger were also there to show their support.
At the end of the day prizes were given out. Giuliano Grazioli's under 18s Barnet team got to the semi - finals of the cup. Medals were given out for teams and a trophy was given to the winner of each age group.
