BARNET KICKZ MOVE UP THE LADDER

Posted on: Fri 04 Jun 2010
Barnet Kickz, managed by Barnet legend Guiliano Grazioli, community coach Stephen Bull and 17-year-old first team newcomer Mauro Vilhete, finished third overall in an eight game 5-a-side ladder tournament in Manchester hosted by Nike.

Barnet's Ricardo Morais was chosen to play in an All-Stars 5 on 5 match at the end of the tournament in which a player from each team was chosen.

The tournament, won by Manchester, attracted 20 Kickz projects from all over England. The Bees team were given a Nike kit with the Barnet F.C. name printed on the back -- teams from all over England were there and all had their own personalised Nike kits.

Nike allowed players to trial boots during matches and other competitions. There were dribbling tests, accuracy tests and speed tests set up to during the team's free time. The winners of each competition were awarded prizes at the end of the day. The Barnet boys also enjoyed painting the Barnet F.C. crest with a graffiti artist.
