ASIAN FESTIVAL DREAM TEAM TO PLAY BARNET XI

Posted on: Wed 25 Aug 2010
A selected "dream team" from Paul Fairclough's recent successful Asian Festival will parade their skills in front of Mark Stimson when they meet a Barnet XI at The Hive next Tuesday in a behind-closed doors match at noon.

The winners of the tournament, KKYW, will be taken through a training session with the first team coaching staff at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

The tournament in July, which comprised 36 teams from as far afield as Birmingham, Nottingham and the Kent Coast, was the brainchild of former Bees manager Fairclough. He said he could not think of one Asian footballer in all the teams he had managed over 16 years, adding: "I decided to start doing something about it.

"I thought 'I am going to find an Asian footballer to come into Barnet's first team. And I decided to hold a soccer tournament and find myself a scholar. Or two or three".

The Fairclough dream has progressed to a dream team for next week's game.
