Barnet FC Ladies continued their pre-season preparation with a fine tournament win at the home of local rivals Enfield Ladies. The Bees won the main competition ahead of sixty five teams including Chelsea, Fulham, Bristol Academy & Brighton.

The Ladies came through the group stages undefeated with Goalkeeper Cherie Rowlands in excellent form in the Bees goal conceding only one goal after five games.

The knock-out stages pitted the Bees against Enfield Ladies in the last 16. But with the young Barnet side in excellent scoring form they brushed aside their rivals 6-1 with scintillating football.

After a narrow 1-0 quarter final victory the Bees faced Spurs Ladies in the Semi Final with Chelsea playing Bristol Academy in the other semi. The young Barnet side, containing two 16 year old players was too strong for the competitive Spurs side winning 2-1.

In the final Barnet faced a strong Bristol Academy team who regularly play their football a division above the Ladies & were the holders of the trophy. In a tightly contested game the Bees took a deserved 1-0 lead just before half-time & held out to deservedly take the trophy.
