LADIES CLINCH SEMI-FINAL SPOT

Posted on: Sun 07 Mar 2010

Two goals from Holly Sandow enabled Barnet Ladies to pull off a 3-2 shock victory over top flight Nottingham Forest to reach the semi-finals of The FA Women's Cup for the first time in their history. They now meet Everton away next Sunday at Southport FC.

A Holly Sandow goal gave the Bees the advantage at the break before a flurry of goals midway through the second-half.

Laura Coombs equalised on the hour for Forest and, although Claire Thomas restored the hosts' lead on 70 minutes, a Gemma Rudman own-goal levelled the tie just two minutes later.

The decisive goal came after 77 minutes when Sandow struck her second to send Barnet into the semi-final against Everton.

Congratulations from all at Barnet FC to Tracy Kevins and her team.
