Second Win for Barnet Ladies ....

Barnet FC Ladies made it two wins out of two in the South East Combination, thanks to a 1-0 home win against newly promoted Colchester United.
However, the Bees had to wait until the 80th minute before breaking down the visitor's resolute defence in a tight match played throughout in sweltering heat. The Bees' breakthrough came after Davina Smith fed newly introduced substitute Hayley Johnson on the Barnet right wing. Johnson produced an inch perfect cross for Beth Curtis who struck the ball home for her second goal of the season.
In a goal less first half, it was Colchester who went the closest to scoring with a long range effort which struck the Barnet cross bar. However, it was the Bees who looked the more likely scorers in the second period with Beth Curtis and Stacey Sowden both going close before the winning goal finally came.
Next Sunday Barnet face the other undefeated team in the Division, Rushden & Diamonds at their Nene Park Ground.
