Bishop Joins The Bees

Posted on: Mon 18 Jun 2007

Barnet FC have today announced the signing of 25-year-old midfielder Neal Bishop.

Bishop was out of contract at his previous club York City where he was voted Players' and Supporters' Player Of The Year in a season which saw the Minstermen make the Conference Play-Offs, only to be knocked out by eventual winners Morecambe.

Bishop is a current England Non-League XI international player and was a key part of the successful Four Nations Tournament in Scotland.

Neal becomes manager Paul Fairclough's first signing of an England National Game player since his arrival at Underhill.

Fairclough said "Neal is a dynamic and hungry player, eager to show that he has a career in the Football League. He was instrumental in York's success as shown by both the Players and Supporters of York City voting for him, as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Football League."

"Neal is excited about joining Barnet Football Club and helping them gain promotion this season"
