Barnet FC Announce New Club Sponsor

Posted on: Fri 13 Jul 2007

Barnet FC is delighted to announce that Mortgage Express will become their main club sponsor from the start of their 100 years at Underhill celebration season.

Barnet based Mortgage Express, the specialist lending arm of Bradford & Bingley plc, has featured on the back of the Barnet shirts and have sponsored Barnet FC for 10 years. This year they have increased their funding and are moving to the front of the shirts to demonstrate their on going support and commitment to the club and community in Barnet.

Mortgage Express has signed a three year sponsorship deal, with an option to renew at the end of the three years.

Tony Kleanthous, Barnet FC chairman, believes that this is a real boost for the club. "It shows that we are an attractive club for national companies to sponsor. It is really pleasing that Mortgage Express have committed to the club for a further three years - this sponsorship strengthens the relationship between us. We are proud to continue this long term association.''

Paul Mitchell, Community Affairs Manager at Mortgage Express explained why the company wanted to partner with Barnet FC. "We employ over 500 people in the Barnet area and wanted to show our commitment to the area. Mortgage Express is part of Bradford & Bingley plc and we already work with Bradford City FC and Yorkshire County Cricket Club, but this is the first time we have taken on a main sponsorship of a southern based sports team. We are really looking forward to developing the partnership with Barnet FC."

Whilst the club have not released the actual sponsorship amount, it is believed that the deal can be worth in the region of £200,000.
