HENDON STRAINS THIGH

Posted on: Wed 26 Dec 2007
Paul Fairclough's plan to bring in assistant manager Ian Hendon at Rochdale in place of suspended Republic of Ireland central defender Joe O'Cearuill have been dashed.
The 36-year-old Hendon, who has played three games this season after officially "hanging up his boots" last season, collected a thigh strain in training. He would have slotted in at right back, with Joe Devera moving across to partner skipper Ismail Yakubu. Max Porter is a possible alternative replacement.
