AN APOLOGY FOR LAST NIGHT
Posted on: Wed 20 Feb 2008
Ian Hendon has issued an apology to the Barnet supporters in the 220 crowd who saw the 4-1 Herts Senior Cup defeat at Ware for the performance of the full-time players.
Assistant manager Hendon, who played at right back in what was considered a strong Barnet side, said: "The fans deserve an apology for wasting their time, money and effort in travelling to the game on a bitterly cold night.
"They didn't get passion from our players, nor a satisfactory performance ... to be brutally frank it was not good enough for any Barnet player wearing a Barnet shirt.
"As professionals they should have shown some personal pride ... I exempt the PROTEC boys from the overall criticism because they gave of their best.
"The players were told in no uncertain terms at the end that what took place last night was unacceptable and that it will not be tolerated."
