GILLET LOOKING GOOD FOR IMPS
Posted on: Mon 17 Mar 2008
Kenny Gillet did not train today after collecting an ankle injury in the 3-1 defeat of Chester City but physiotherapist Mark Stein reported that this was purely a precautionary measure.
Stein said that the ankle was not swollen and the 22-year-old French left back, who has been in the wars recently, was not considered as doubtful for the weekend home game against Lincoln City.
Stein confirmed that Joe Devera is suffering from a form of shin splints, but this is being managed and the 21-year-old defender is being "guided through".
Devera's problem and 30-year-old Sagi Burton's need of rest after his recent long injury lay-off contributed to manager Paul Fairclough bringing in England U18 full back Jordan Parkes from Watford.
Adam Birchall, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem, is expected to resume training this week.
