CAREW THE LATEST CASUALTY

Posted on: Thu 01 May 2008
Ashley Carew, the 22-year-old right sided midfielder who has played at right back in Barnet's last two matches, misses the last game of the season trip to Rotherham United with a thigh strain.

That leaves manager Paul Fairclough with a squad of 15 to take to Yorkshire ... and he plans to add a PROTEC youngster to the travelling party. On-loan Jordan Parkes took over when Carew went off in the 2-1 victory over play-off hopefuls Stockport County last weekend and the 11 who finished that game are likely to start at Millmoor.

Carew, who has made 17 appearances and 14 substitutions, takes the number of players absent to seven --skipper Ismail Yakubu, Player of the Year contenders Joe Devera and Neal Bishop, Sagi Burton, goalkeeper Rob Beckwith and assistant manager Ian Hendon. Between them they have made more than 100 first team starts this season ... which emphasises the merit of the win against Stockport.

Danny Hart, who made a good impression when he went on as a substitute last week on his 19th birthday, and striker Giuliano Grazioli, who received a hero's welcome as a late sub, are likely to be on the bench again.

Paul Fairclough, who plans to announce his retained list at the beginning of next week, wants to finish the season on a high with a second successive double victory ... the Bees beat Rotherham 2-0 at Underhill in September.
