Rob Beckwith, restricted to 11 appearances in his first season at Underhill, has signed a new improved contract with the Bees and is hoping to re-establish himself as the No One goalkeeper next season.

Lee Harrison, who made 40 appearances, started the season and played every game until a dip in form in December saw him lose his place to 23-year-old Beckwith at Wycombe Wanderers on New Year's Day.

But, after two clean sheets and only conceding two goals in four games, 6ft 2ins tall Beckwith was injured. He got back for a run of seven games ... but dropped out after the Peterborough United home game on March 4 with a hamstring problem and did not play again before the end of the season.

Manager Paul Fairclough gambled without a goalkeeping substitute for all but one game throughout the rest of March and April but 36-year-old club captain Harrison stayed fit and in good form.

After signing at Underhill, the 14 stone 4 pounds former Luton Town goalie, a one-time Arsenal target, said: "I am happy to be signing again to be part of a club that is moving forward".

Beckwith is clear of his hamstring problem and said of next season's challenge with Harrison for the first team jersey,: "I'm hoping that it will be a role reversal".
