Rob Beckwith, Barnet's 23-year-old goalkeeper, is still being treated for the groin strain that ruled him out of Saturday's 3-2 win against Watford and, with the new season only five days away, pysiotherapist Mark Stein is unable to put a time scale on his recovery.

The physio said after a double training sesssion for the squad on Monday: "The doctor and I will reassess Rob's injury on a day-to-day basis".

Evergreen Lee Harrison, who did not concede a goal in the first half against Watford, is the Bees' only other goalie as Paul Fairclough has told Israeli Ran Kadoch that he is unable to offer him a contract.

The manager said: "If he had come on the scene earlier he would have been seriously considered but, sadly, we cannot keep him ... I cannot carry three goalkeepers".

Fairclough also "reluctantly" told Dutchman Felino Jardim that he could not keep him as he has enough right wingers. Jardim, who played for Sparta Rotterdam, made a brief appearance near to the end of the victory against Watford.

Jardim had rejected a one year deal with Cambridge United -- "he's a good player", said Fairclough.

The manager revealed that Ryan Hall, the former Crystal Palace left sided player who scored a spectacular matchwinner against St Albans City in a pre-season game, would be in training with the Bees on Thursday. Hall went off with a medial ligament injury soon after scoring.

Frenchman Karim Rouani, the former Belgium Second Division striker with Olympique Charleroi who scored within minutes of coming on in the second half against Watford, is still training with Barnet.

And Paul Fairclough is "in talks" with former Gretna left sided central defender Rhys Meynell, who played against Wingate and Finchley and Harrow Borough last week.
