French left back Kenny Gillet is banned for three matches after being sent off for "violent conduct" in the 4-0 Carling Cup first round defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 22 - year - old Gillet, who was also booked in the opening League 2 game at home to Chesterfield, faces a club fine and will miss the games at Rochdale and Chester and at home to Brentford.
The Bees, who collected 10 red cards last season, already have a £5,000 fine from the FA hanging over them for their past disciplinary record.

Paul Fairclough, who is working to bring in a replacement on loan, said today: "Kenny has really let us down. He retaliated after being antagonised when he got kicked ... but his impetuosity is coupled with a desire to win. There was no contact with his head".

Aswad Thomas, a 19-year-old left sided defender from Charlton Athletic who was on loan at Accrington Stanley last season, is training with Barnet, but Fairclough has another left back coming in on trial and has talked to a Premiership club and a Championship side about getting a loan player.

Last words on the Carling Cup defeat from the manager: "The scoreline reflects a thrashing but over the 90 minutes there were lots of good things for me to work on. We gave away three goals on set pieces".
