BANGING THE DRUM FOR BARNET

Posted on: Thu 28 Aug 2008
Barnet supporters travelling to away games can now learn in advance whether they can take flags, banners and drums to the grounds they are visiting.

BFCSA Committee member Tudor Powell has been put in charge of corresponding with opponents to find out what is 'on' and what is not. Details are posted on the BFCSA website.

For example, Dagenham & Redbridge allow drums, flags, banners, balloons and confetti ... with the proviso that the club reserve the right to refuse any item on the night if considered by stewards or the police as liable to be used as offensive weapons.

Flags and banners at Victoria Road will be moved if they obstruct any advertisement hoardings.

Rochdale did not allow drums because of complaints from nearby residents.

Note: Chester City have not replied to the queries as yet.
