DEVERDICS AND O'FLYNN JOIN TRAINING

Posted on: Fri 19 Sep 2008
Newcomers Nicky Deverdics and John O'Flynn both trained with the Barnet first team squad today.

Paul Fairclough, who hopes that both players will be fit to play in the League 2 game against Bury at Underhill on Saturday, reported after the morning session: "Their appearance brought a light, fresh feel about the camp. The point against Morecambe has given everyone a lift".

Midfielder Deverdics, signed from Gretna, with whom he had Scottish Premier Leage experience, came on as a substitute against Chesterfield in the first game of the season, but has since been ruled out by a double hernia operation.

Striker O'Flynn, signed from Cork City, has yet to play for the Bees. He has been treated for a hamstring injury.

Barnet have been unlucky with injuries to their new signings. Apart from Deverdics and O'Flynn, Isreali goalkeeper Ran Kadoch lasted 33 minutes of his League debut at Lincoln City before going off with a thigh injury and Jeremy de Magalhaes was ruled out for six weeks with a serious groin injury after a training ground mishap two days after his debut.
