SCRATCH Xl TASTE DEFEAT
Posted on: Fri 03 Oct 2008
A Barnet team of youngsters and trialists - but including newcomer Nicky Deverdics and six others who have played in the first team this season -- lost 4-1 to the second string of Blue Square Premier League side Ebbsfleet behind closed doors this afternoon.
Paul Fairclough decided to use the game to give 90 minutes of football to those who missed out at Grimsby - Joe Tabiri, playing out of position at right back, Danny Hart, who scored the Bees' lone goal, Max Porter, Deverdics, Elliott Charles and Luke Medley.
Ran Kadoch, the Bees' 22-year-old Israeli goalkeeper, made his return in goal after collecting a thigh injury 33 minutes into his Football League debut at Lincoln City on September 6.
Few reputations, it would seem, were enhanced.
