The Bees take on Wycombe Wanderers in League Two at Underhill on Tuesday, and barnetfc.com takes a look ahead to the match.
Form
Wanderers have made their customary strong start to a season and sit pretty at the top of League Two with six wins and five draws so far.
Things have slipped slightly of late however, but they have shown their character by snatching a late goal in each of their last two games against Grimsby and Darlington to salvage themselves vital points.
As well as that, when paired with free-scoring Shrewsbury Town in the JPT at Adams Park, The Shrews certainly lived up to their billing, knocking seven unanswered goals past them, Grant Holt hitting five. Their only other defeat was against Birmingham City in the Carling Cup, who beat them 4-0.
Eleven goals conceded in two cup games. Strange when you consider their near water tight defence in the league. The goal they conceded at Grimsby was the only goal conceded away from home, at the fifth time of asking.
Still, as we approach November, Wycombe are still unbeaten in the league. Can we strip another team of their record, having been the first ever side to beat Rotherham at The Don Valley Stadium on Saturday?
Last Meetings
The Bees have a decent measure over Wycombe at Underhill, winning two and drawing one since our promotion to the Football League. We met on a Tuesday night last season as well, and The Bees came from behind to take the points with two late goals from Liam Hatch and Jason Puncheon turning it round after John Sutton's first half opener.
2008 kicked off with a trip to Adams Park, and it was a goalless draw to welcome the New Year. Few chances were created as Barnet held onto a decent point.
Players To Watch
Wycombe haven't notched too many goals this year, but it will come as no surprise to find former Bee Scott McGleish at the top of the charts with three goals so far. McGleish nearly earned himself the Golden Boot last season and will look forward to returning to his old club.
Also on three is defender Mike Williamson and Chris Zebroski has two, and he will be a danger having joined from Millwall. He played last season on loan at Torquay and lit up the Conference with some excellent performances, though his presence his pending an appeal after his red card on Saturday.
