FAIRCLOUGH DISAPPOINTED WITH A POINT

"We've played the team at the top of the league and I'm despondent that we've only got a point out of it really. I thought it was probably the best 45 minutes we've had here this season, we totally dominated the game."

"Wycombe upped their game there's no question, but we weathered it and I felt we got to grips with the game again and looked the most likely to score. I was disappointed with the goal, we gave the ball away in the middle of the park when we didn't need to."

"I've got to say that it was real encouragement for those that have followed Barnet this season, and for the players. It was a sterling performance and we picked up from where we left off on Saturday."

"They're a good side, an organised side, but we've more than matched them tonight and I'm disappointed that we haven't got all three points."

"We've gained confidence from the victories we've had. We've got ten points from our last five games, that's the kind of form that wins championships instead of being in the relegation area."

"It was a terrific goal off the training ground again, we do work off those things and it was executed well. I'm very pleased with the players set that one up and organised it."

"We certainly used a 4-5-1, with the wingers in very advanced positions so it almost became a 4-3-3. In the second half we got a little bit deep and they dropped too, it was until we could get the stretched that we could get into the ascendency again."

"I think anybody watching the game, even though it was only 1-1 would have been quite thrilled by that kind of game. There was some good football played and I was excited and enthused by our first half performance. We finished strongly too, still trying to get the goal."

"He [Michael Townsend] has had a very good game and can be proud of that. He gave us something that we have perhaps been missing and he wants to do better as well."

Wanderers boss Peter Taylor summed up the game in a similar fashion.

"I think the division is very tight, there are no MK Dons' or Peterborough's this year. I think Barnet are a good side. To go and beat Rotherham away shows how good they are so we can be happy with where we are right now."

"I thought Barnet were good in the first half, I know they favour going down hill and they have some quick and clever players, they scored a really good free-kick."

"We weren't too terrible in the first half but I thought we could have played better; people tend to get a bit negative when they defend the hill and perhaps we did that. I was pleased with us in the second half though, we showed good character."
