Barnet were ushered out of the Herts Senior Cup by St Albans who inflicted a 3-0 defeat on their county cousins at Clarence Park last night.
The home side hit a post after two minutes and only moments later a communication breakdown between Jeremy de Magalhaes and Ran Kadoch saw the Frenchman head the ball over the advancing Israeli keeper from the edge of the area for a picture-book own goal.
The Bees did manage to mount a rally as half time approached with Elliott Charles getting himself into shooting positions. The young striker was one of the few bright spots of the night. He competed well and won a fair share of headers until a lack of match practice took its toll.
Fourteen minutes into the second half St Albans extended their lead when a well delivered free kick from the left was met by Jon Munday who rose highest to head home.
Danny Hart should have reduced the deficit midway through the second half but he headed wide when well positioned.
Almost on the whistle Chris Seeby was given space and time in the penalty area and turned the ball goalwards to complete a satisfactory night's work for St Albans.
The Barnet team was an assortment of first team squad members and young aspirants. Ashley Carew captained the side in the first half; de Magalhaes wore the armband in the second.
