IN-HOUSE PRACTICE MATCH

Posted on: Sat 29 Nov 2008
John O'Flynn, Barnet's top scorer with six goals to his credit, played 90 minutes in a competitive in-house practice match at the training ground today after being sidelined with a calf injury since the midweek visit to Port Vale.

"He came through OK", reported manager Paul Fairclough.

Skipper Neal Bishop and livewire Albert Adomah, who both needed scans after Port Vale, to establish the extent of their injuries, did not take part in the game.

The game, refereed by club captain Lee Harrison, featured trialists, two from France and one from Belgium.

Afterwards, assistant manager Ian Hendon travelled to Southend to assess Luton Town, the Bees' next opponents, in their 3-1 FA Cup defeat.

Footnote: Micah Hyde, the 34-year-old Jamaican international midfielder who has had his contract with Peterborough United cancelled by mutual consent, is NOT on loan with Barnet (as an internet report states).
