MARK HUGHES SIGNS FOR BEES

Posted on: Mon 02 Feb 2009
Northern Ireland international midfielder Mark Hughes signed for Barnet this morning until the end of the season ... Ian Hendon's second signing of transfer deadline day.

The 24-year-old, who joined Chester City on trial in the run-up to the 2007-08 season (after a trial with Barnet), has made 43 appearances for the Bees' League 2 rivals and scored four goals.

Hughes, a former Tottenham Hotspur trainee who spent four years at White Hart Lane, has won 12 Northern Ireland U21 caps in addition to two for the senior side.

He went on loan to Northampton Town from Spurs, but then joined Oldham Athletic and made 60 appearances. He has also been at Thurrock, Chesterfield and Stevenage Borough.
