PITCH INSPECTION ON TUESDAY

Posted on: Wed 11 Feb 2009

Barnet FC have arranged a pitch inspection at Underhill on Tuesday morning following persistent rain overnight and throughout the day.

The aim is to get a decision on whether or not the match goes ahead before Grimsby Town travel South tomorrow.

Groundsman Barry Moggridge said at tea-time on Monday that the pitch was now waterlogged, which was the reason the game against Rotherham United was called off. The weather forecast for Monday night is not good.

Ian Hendon has had three matches postponed since taking over at the start of the New Year including the original game against Grimsby on January 3, the away visit to Wycombe Wanderers (now rescheduled for March 31) and Saturday's home game against Rotherham United.

Hendon and the Barnet squad worked on set pieces and tactics on the snow at their training ground in Hertfordshire this morning.

"It was only the second time in a week that we have been able to get out, albeit on the snow."
