MAX SIGNS FOR RUSHDEN
Max Porter, who asked Ian Hendon to announce his release by Barnet early so that he could find a new club, has signed a one year deal with Rushden & Diamonds.
Porter was the first outside close season signing for Justin Edinburgh, the Conference side's manager, who checked the midfielder's background and character with his former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Ian Hendon.
The 21-year-old Porter told www. barnet fc.com that he had joined Rushden rather than Histon for less money as he wanted to stay a full time player and was moving to the area.
"The facilities at Rushden helped sway my thinking ... but it was mainly staying full time as I was with Barnet that led to my decision".
Porter made 51 starts and 12 appearances as a substitute in his two seasons at Underhill.
