YOU'RE HIRED, WELL MAYBE
Long-time Barnet supporter and programme contributor James 'Statto' Castle is hoping to become Hertfordshire's own winning Apprentice - with a little help from the Bees' own Mr Bumble.
James is through to the final six of the Hertbeat Apprentice, a competition run by Herts-based radio station Hertbeat FM to find a new talent to join their Breakfast Show presenting team. Their first task is to devise interesting ways of advertising themselves and the station to bring in new listeners. James felt that Barnet's own Mr Bumble could help his campaign, with the Bees mascot appearing with James's campaign team in Hertford, Ware and Letchworth on Friday afternoon and in and around Welwyn Garden City on Sunday. One person will be 'fired' on Monday so Barnet fans have an opportunity to show their support for a fellow Bee and make sure that Statto remains in the frame.
Although Barnet residents will not be able to tune into the station, its coverage only extending as far south as South Mimms, you can listen online via www.hertbeat.com; the Breakfast Show runs from6-10am with a special Apprentice update at 8.30am. You can show your support for James by emailing steve@hertbeat.com
