The current recession has had a "significant effect" on Barnet FC, says chairman Tony Kleanthous.

In an exclusive frank and revealing behind-the-scenes interview with BEN KENTISH, of Barnet FC Supporters' Association, part 1 of which is currently on their website, the chairman reveals: "We really suffered - we were £250,000 over our budget last season and it really made us suffer, most of the money was spent on bringing in loan players".

The chairman does concede, however, that it was hard to tell how much of the effect was also down to the side performing badly at the same time as a recession.

The interview answers BFCSA members' questions on a wide range of subjects, including what went wrong last season, attendances, squad budgets in League 2 and selling star players.
