Ian Hendon acted swiftly when Brentwood Town called off next Wednesday's pre-season friendly because their pitch is not ready...he arranged a game for that day against Blue Square Premier outfit Grays Athletic.

Both clubs have decided that next Wednesday's pre-season game will be played behind closed doors as a practice match.

Ian Hendon said:"As it is not a competitive first team game, and both sides will be using several trialists, it has been agreed we won't play in public.

"It suits me to do it this way ... I won't have to play any first teamers".
