Lee Harrison, who has made 358 appearances for Barnet and been voted Player of the Year in three successive seasons, has signed a new one year contract with the club as first team coach.

But this is not the end of a playing role for the 37-year-old, who achieved his full UEFA coaching badge as a 21-year-old player at Charlton Athletic alongside Alan Curbishley and was upgraded to A licence level in 1997.

"I have signed on again as a player ... and will appear if needed", said Harrison. He is only the fifth player to make 300-plus appearances for the Bees.

This will be his 11th season at Underhill, last season he made 22 appearances and one as a substitute. He has only appeared twice as a sub alongside his 358 games for the Bees.

Harrison added: "Everyone connected with Underhill knows that my heart is with Barnet. I'll continue to give everything I've got to taking the club forward".

Manager Ian Hendon said: "Lee did a good job at my side when I took over this year, I hope we can continue where we left off last season".

Harrison, who was appointed club captain in 2007, was brought back to Underhill by former manager Paul Fairclough to be mentor and goalkeeping coach to first Ross Flitney and later Rob Beckwith. He re-established himself as the No 1 choice keeper.
