FURLONG TRAINING AND CONTEMPLATING
Posted on: Thu 02 Jul 2009
Paul Furlong, the 40-year-old striker who scored nine goals in 21 games for Barnet while on loan from Southend United last season, was on parade when the squad reported for pre-season training today,
Fans favourite Paul said: "I really enjoyed my time at Underhill and will be doing a bit of training with the Bees in the pre-season period, but I am not sure what I want to do yet".
Leading the way among the players lapping the cricket club ground time and again with the sun beating down was former Republic of Ireland World Cup defender Gary Breen.
The 35-year-old Breen played 22 games for the Bees last season and was a key figure in leading the fight against relegation and inspiring co-defenders like Ismail Yakubu and Joe Devera.
Ian Hendon and new first team coach Lee Harrison conducted a vigorous two and a half hours first session.
