CAN BEES GIVE BLOOD?

Posted on: Mon 06 Jul 2009
The National Blood Service will be visiting Barnet FC on Tuesday, September 15, and are hoping to get 70 donors to the Durham Suite that day.

Bees' supporter Daniel Fox, who is the Area Donor Relations manager for Hertfordshire, asks any potential donors to call the National Call Centre on 0300 123 2323 to make an appointment

The Durham Suite will be open on September 15 between 12.45 p.m. - 3.30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. for donors.

Daniel Fox and his team will be attending the Barnet FC Community Open Day next Sunday to promote the visit and register potential donors. Registering will speed up the donation process come the day of the session

He says: "You could become a life saver that day in September ... hospitals currently need 7,000 blood donations every day and currently only four per cent of the population support us.

"Our message is 'Save a life - give blood'".

To become a blood donor you need to be aged between 17-66 and in good general health. For further information please log on to www.blood.co.uk
