HYDE: "WE ARE COMPETITION FOR ANYONE"

Posted on: Thu 30 Jul 2009
First team coach Lee Harrison summed up Barnet's 3-1 win against Ryman League Premier side Billericay Town as: "An excellent work out ... young players who are learning gave everything".

Danny Hart skippered the side, which included Bees' squad players Elliott Charles and Joe Tabiri, and they ran out comfortable winners with goals from Antonio Murray, the former Histon forward, American Leslie Kojo-Osei, who has been having trials in Denmark and Sweden, and former Reading youth team captain Clovis Kamdjo.

Former Hendon goalkeeper Will Viner had another outing in goal, Sierra Leone and former Macclesfield Town left back Ahmed Dean played for 90 minutes,as did Kamdjo.

One new trialist who impressed was 19-year- old right back Ryan O'Neill, who has been at West Ham United for three years. He was brought to the game by Barnet's Northern Ireland international midfielder Mark Hughes - the pair come from the same village

Footnote: Newly elected Bees' skipper Micah Hyde has predicted a top half of League 2 finish "at least" and echoed the current air of optimism and expectation around Underhill with the quote: "We have shown in pre-season that we are competition for anyone".
