BREEN OUT WITH LIGAMENT INJURY

Posted on: Sat 14 Nov 2009
Gary Breen, Barnet's inspirational central defender, has been sidelined by a partial torn medial ligament and misses the League 2 game at Underhill against Hereford United this afternoon.

A scan revealed the shock news and there were immediate fears that the 35-year-old former Republic of Ireland World Cup defender, who doubles as assistant manager, faces a long lay-off.

No time limit is being put on the injury by the club but Breen's optimistic viewpoint is "I am a quick healer". He has played in seven games this season after missing out until the end of September with an injury collected in the pre-season friendly at Ebbsfleet United.
