HUGHES RETURN A BIG BOOST

Posted on: Thu 10 Dec 2009
Mark Hughes, Albert Adomah and on-loan striker Craig McAllister, who missed the midweek FA Cup defeat by Accrington Stanley, are welcomed back by manager Ian Hendon for the weekend visit to Underhill of Crewe Alexandra.

Hughes had his second one-match ban of the season after being sent off for two bookable offences at Bury. Adomah had an ankle injury and McAllister was Cup-tied. Right back Ryan O'Neill has resumed training this week after a long layoff with a left ankle injury, but is not yet match fit.

Of 26-year-old Northern Ireland international Hughes, who has made 23 appearances this season, Hendon said: "It will be good to write his name on the team sheet. His influence on the team, not only when he is on the ball, but by cajoling and encouraging others he manages to lift the level of performance that the team delivers".

It's three back in the fold, but three defenders, Gary Breen, Clovis Kamdjo and Joe Devera, are still out injured.
