VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - MAYBE

Posted on: Tue 12 Jan 2010

Forward thinking Barnet groundsman Barry Moggridge has issued an advance plea for volunteers to help clear the Underhill pitch on Friday ... if the snow doesn't clear.

There are currently three inches of snow on the semi-frozen surface - last used on December 28 when the Bees drew 0-0 with Northampton Town - but Moggridge is optimistic that forecasts of rising temperatures later in the week can ensure Saturday's League 2 game against Lincoln City going ahead.

His message to supporters at lunch-time today was: "If the snow doesn't clear by Friday morning, I would be very appreciative if some of our fans could volunteer in removing the remaining snow from the pitch in an extended effort to get Saturday's game on".

www.barnetfc.com will update news of the state of the pitch on Thursday ... and if supporters are needed to help.
