LET'S GET O'FLYNN BACK ON TRACK

Posted on: Mon 08 Feb 2010
"The "good deal" contract offer that Barnet top scorer John O'Flynn turned down earlier this season is still on the table, Ian Hendon said today.

The 27-year-old Irishman turned down a £100,000 move to League 2 rivals Shrewsbury Town in the transfer window - a deal that would have brought a tall striker to Underhill in return. If O'Flynn had moved, Hendon's playing budget would have been boosted to bring in fresh faces.

Hendon, who ackowledges the player's right to turn down deals, says that he now expects O'Flynn, who scored 10 goals in 20 games after coming back from a pre-season injury until the end of November, to be "back on track" and doing well for himself and the Bees.

"As his manager I am delighted that John is still with us", said Hendon. "On his day he is one of, if not the best, strikers in this division.

"I for one hope that he signs on the dotted line, meaning that John would be a Barnet player for 2010-11 and beyond".

O'Flynn has scored 28 goals in 57 starts and seven substitute appearances since joining the Bees from Cork City.
