Paul Furlong, Barnet's 41-year-old striker, saw consultants at Moorfields Eye Hospital today as a result of a ball being smashed against his face from close range half an hour from the end of Saturday's 2-0 victory at Port Vale.
Furlong was examined at Staffordshire General Hospital after the match on Saturday and referred to Moorfields Eye Hospital. He was seen by consultants there this morning.
Ian Hendon said: "We will assess Paul's condition tomorrow".
Hendon has options for tomorrow's game away to AFC Bournemouth with Mark Hughes returning to the squad after completing a two-game suspension. He may not want to change a winning team but Micah Hyde and David Livermore did well in midfield. Since Livermore arrived from Brighton the Bees have won twice and drawn once in four games. Midfielder Nicky Deverdics, too, who replaced Furlong, also did well.
Clovis Kamdjo, the 18-year-old central defender who earned plaudits from Hendon for a sterling performance in his first game since an operation in November, is likely to keep his place alongside Gary Breen, who is twice his age, as Ismail Yakubu is still unavailable with a back problem.
John O'Flynn took his goals tally to 14 in 27 starts and five substitute appearances with his two at Port Vale. Hendon said: "He got his goals through sheer endeavour and hard work.
"That's the hardest I have seen him work since he has been at this football club. He didn't stop running and closing people down".
O'Flynn, who turned down a £100,000 transfer window move to Shrewsbury Town, was the Bees' top scorer with 18 last season.
Footnote: O'Flynn and goalkeeper Jake Cole are in the League 2 Team of the Week on the Football League website.
