CLOVIS IN THE CLEAR

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010
The Football Association have upheld Barnet's appeal against the red card shown to 19-year-old Clovis Kamdjo by referee Steve Cook 10 minutes from the end of Saturday's home defeat by Accrington Stanley.

The commission that heard the appeal at The FA offices at Wembley Stadium considered the evidence and ruled it "a case of wrongful dismissal".

The score at Underhill was 1-1 when Kamdjo received his marching orders ... although goalkeeper Jake Cole saved the resultant penalty kick, Stanley then scored the matchwinner.

The FA ruling that an automatic ban is withdrawn means that Kamdjo is eligible to keep his place for Saturday's visit to Darlington.

There were several disputed decisions during the match, including a disallowed Micah Hyde "goal" early on. Ian Hendon commented: "At least this has been corrected, but the result stays.

"Whether we would have drawn or won the match is debatable, but there is no doubt that we would have had a better chance with 11 men rather than 10".
