Micah Hyde, Barnet's 35-year-old skipper, left Underhill on crutches yesterday after collecting an Achilles injury in the first half of the 2-1 home defeat by Macclesfield Town.
"He was feeling better today", said club doctor Ritan Mehta after checking the injury at The Hive. "We will reassess things ahead of Tuesday's visit to Dagenham & Redbridge".
Hyde told
www.barnetfc.com "The injury got worse as the first half went on. The decision for me to come off was taken to prevent the injury getting worse".
Hyde, who has played 16 times for Jamaica and more than 500 games with Cambridge United, Watford, Burnley and Peterborough United, has made 40 appearances for the Bees this season. He has skippered every team for which he has played.
Dr Mehta also checked leading scorer
John O'Flynn's knee injury today. "He is improving", he said.
The 16-goal Irishman, who has missed the last four Bees' games, should be back in action this week.
Ian Hendon had the squad in for Sunday training after a defeat that left the Bees with four away games out of the six remaining to maintain an eight point advantage and a superior goals difference over second from bottom Grimsby Town.
