FITNESS OF PLAYERS TO BE ASSESSED

Posted on: Fri 16 Apr 2010
Ian Hendon will assess the fitness of several members of the Barnet squad up to Saturday morning before formulating his team and tactics ahead of the important League 2 visit to Bradford City tomorrow.

Ismail Yakubu is still sidelined by a back injury and fellow central defender Daniel Leach misses out after being sent off in midweek against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Gary Breen, an influential member of the back four with Yakubu and Leach missing, has missed the last two games with a knee injury and top scorer John O'Flynn the last five.

Jake Hyde missed the second half of the game at Dagenham & Redbridge with an ankle injury after scoring the Bees' equaliser on the stroke of half time - and skipper Micah Hyde and David Livermore were other injury absentees.

In addition, skipper-for-the-night Mark Hughes went off a gashed forehead in the opening minutes of the game.

If the right personnel are not fit, Hendon may have to revert to a 4-3-3 formation in a bid to get the goals for a needed victory at Valley Parade.

The manager is always reluctant to give the opposition much information about his line-up. This morning he told www.barnetfc.com:
"I can honestly say that I don't know what my line-up will be until I know who is available".

Nicky Deverdics is in contention for a place after coming on as a substitute for Hughes at Dagenham.
