Posted on: Fri 23 Apr 2010
Reece Yorke, a 17-year-old England schoolboy international central defender, has signed a one year professional contract with Barnet ... and supporters can get a close-up of the newcomer on television this evening.
The 6ft 1ins tall Yorke is with the U18s schoolboy side for a Centenary match between England and Scotland in a live international youth game being televised on Sky Sports 1 at 7.30 p.m. from Brunton Park, Carlisle.
He has been attending Stanmore College, which has links with Barnet's Centre of Excellence at The Hive, and has been training with the Bees' U18s in recent months. He has been a regular in the side since Paul Fairclough took over the side.
Yorke has been to the USA with England schoolboys and played in 7-1 and 5-1 victories against a Georgia All-Star X1 and St. Louis. Next week the side play the Republic of Ireland.
Yorke is the first signing from Barnet's new youth set-up this season. More are anticipated.
