Nicky Deverdics, the skilful 22-year-old Geordie midfielder who has made 30 starts and 22 substitute appearances for Barnet in his two seasons with the club, has been released.

The Non-League paper today lists the former Newcastle United trainee among their "Top Team of Bargains" from the PFA released list - along with 38-year-old former Bees goalkeeper and first team coach Lee Harrison. He is listed as a goalkeeping bargain although he did not play all last season as Jake Cole was ever-present.

Deverdics was in the Gretna side that won promotion to the Scottish Premier League, but was later released and came to Underhill.
