Clovis Kamdjo, the 19-year-old Cameroon U-17 central defender, has so impressed Mark Stimson since he took over in June that he has given him an eve-of-season boost ... a new two year deal.
The manager added a huge accolade this afternoon when he drew comparison between Clovis and recently retired former Barnet favourite Linvoy Primus, who played 127 games for the Bees between 1994-97.
Stimson, who travelled in to work every day with Linvoy when he was on loan with the Bees from Portsmouth in the Nineties, said: "Clovis is a good prospect ... a strong athletic player. Without putting any added pressure on him, he has a similar style to Linvoy Primus.
"If he can get anywhere near Linvoy he will be OK".
Phil Carpenter, who understudied ever-present
Jake Cole last season and has been training with the Bees and on the bench in the pre-season games, is signing a new non-contract form. The 20-year-old goalkeeper played a rare game in the 1-0 defeat by Wingate and Finchley.
Mark Stimson and his No 2 Scott Barrett, who is also goalkeeping coach, have given trials to several goalkeepers in recent weeks, but have plumped for ever-reliable Carpenter.
