Key Personnel
Swans Manager Brendon Rodgers started his managerial career as youth coach at Reading and then held the same position at Chelsea for two years until 2006 when Jose Mourinho appointed him reserve team manager. He joined Watford as Manager in November 2008, moving to Reading in June 2009. He accepted the reins at Swansea City during the closed season.
Brief Directions by Road
Fairly straight forward journey if you leave the M4 at its Junction 45 and take the A4067 towards the City Centre Stay on this A4067 road for around three miles and you will see the stadium on your left. Car parking at the stadium is reserved for permit holders so the club encourage the Park and Ride situated on the A4067 a short distance after leaving the M4 - cost per car £5.00. There is limited street parking on a number of side roads on the left as you pass the Stadium.
Car Parking
Street parking is available within a short walk if you arrive at the stadium early enough. The club also operate a park and ride service from the A4067 charging £5 per car including the bus trip.
Directions by Train
Please note that getting home via this route is virtually impossible on the same night. However a train from London Paddington will take approx 3 hours to Swansea High Street Station. The ground is a good 25 minute walk away so a taxi is your best option.
Supporters Coaches
The BFCSA is running a coach to this fixture and seats are priced at £30.00 adults £25.00 Concessions. The coach will depart from outside the Barnet Odeon at 2.00pm. For further details about supporters coach travel and how to book check out the BFCSA website at www.bfcsa.co.uk. You can also phone the Coach Travel hot line on 01707 647365. Please remember that you must be a member of the Association to travel - don't worry you can join on the day. The club wishes me to point out that supporters' coach travel is entirely organised and operated independently by the Barnet FC Supporters Association. Barnet Football Club Limited cannot be held liable for any losses occurred.
Eating and Drinking Locally
Very little of quality in the vicinity of the ground and all the local pubs are not particularly "away fan friendly". Eats and drinks are plentiful inside the ground and this is where most away fans head before kick off. The Town Centre boasts The No Sign Bar, which is a CAMRA listed.
Ground Description The Liberty Stadium was completed in 2005 and has a capacity of around 25,000. The stadium is currently shared with the Osprey's Rugby Union Club.
It will soon become very apparent that 21st century stadiums are all very similar in design. Swansea's Stadium holds approx 21,000 and all the seats have a good view - nice.
The area we will be allocated in the North End of the stadium where up to 3,500 can be accommodated.
Admission Prices
Special Prices Adults £10 Concessions and Juniors £1.00
Our Last Meeting & Memories This will be our first visit to the Liberty Stadium although he met Swansea in the past at their quaint old Vetch Field Ground many times in the 1990's when we first became a League Club. The most exciting were; the 2-1win in November 1999 when Kenny Charlery and Darren Currie scored a couple of beauties, and the 2-0 victory at Christmas 1997 featuring a wonderful "OJ (Phil Simpson) From The Half Way Line" goal to keep a Scott McGleish strike company.
Celebrity Watch
Here we go autograph hunters! Harry Seacombe ('arry honestly warmly applauded my bands' version of "I Wanna Be Like You" from Jungle Book at a function in Llandudno many years ago), Catherine Zeta Jones, Ian Hislop, Michael Heseltine, Dylan Thomas - all hail from Swansea.
