There is no medical assessment to report after 48 hours of the extent of Steve Kabba's injury or how long he will be out of action.
All Mark Stimson would say this afternoon was that new physio Simon Murphy had advised him "it's not as bad as we first thought".
The manager said that the club would make a full statement later this week, including any detail of a loan replacement, if necessary, if Kabba is to be out of action for a length of time.
Kabba will obviously miss tomorrow's first round Carling Cup visit to Swansea City, who lost 2-0 away to Hull City in their opening Championship game at the weekend.
This will be Barnet's first-ever visit to the Liberty Stadium, where they will link up with former winger Mark Gower, who made 90 starts and 15 substitute appearances between 2001-03 after signing from Tottenham Hotspur for £32,500. Gower, now 31, moved on to Southend United for £23,000.
Mark Stimson repeated today that he would be sending his strongest team to play the Swans - "with one or two changes from Saturday".
