YOUNG READING STAR JOINS THE LOAN GANG

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

Exciting England youth international winger Jordan Obita signed a one month's loan deal with Barnet at The Hive today.
Obita, who has already played for the Reading first team this season at the age of 17, is the latest young star signed by Lawrie Sanchez this season to spark a revival -- Paul Downing, Reading team mate Michael Hector and Jack Saville preceding him.
Obita, who is still in the academy ranks at Reading, signed full time forms in 2010, spurning the interest of a number of other clubs. He plays on either wing or in midfield.
Within weeks of becoming a full time scholar, Obita was in the squad for a Carling Cup tie at Torquay United and he came off the bench in added time. He sparkled on tour in Slovenia ahead of this season and scored an eye catching left footed strike in a 2-1 win against Bristol Rovers.
Obita was on the bench for the opening games of Reading's Championship campaign and made his first team debut against Charlton Athletic.
